SCALLOPED OYSTERS

4 tbsp butter, melted
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 quart oysters shucked
2 cups oyster crackers
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup milk
Pinch mace
Salt and pepper, to taste
Drain oysters in a colander, reserving the juice. Grinc crackers, but not to fine. Place one-third of oysters in a buttered 2-quart dish and sprinkle with half the cracker crumbs on top. Repeat layers ending with oysters.
Mix remaining ingredients, except bread crumbs and pour over dish. Top with bread crumbs and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Serves 4-6
