TIPSY APPLE CRISP
Category: Cobblers/Crumbles and Crisps
6 cups apples, peeled, cored and sliced, divided
1/3 cup orange juice
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp rum or apple schnapps
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup oatmeal, not instant
1/4 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup butter, melted
Preheat oven to 325. Butter a 13x9 inch baking pan and place half the sliced apples in the dish. Mix the juice, vanilla extract and rum; pour half the mixture over the apples. Mix dry ingredients and sprinkle half the mixture over the apples. Repeat layers. Drizzle with melted butter on top. Bake for 90 minutes. Serve with whipped ice cream or ice cream.
