CHOCOLATE NUT CHEWS

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/3 cu butter and peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups quick rolled oats
1/2 cup salted peanuts

Mix in a heavy saucepan first 4 ingredients. Stir over moderate heat until mixture bubbles all over top. Boil and stir 2 minutes more. Remove from heat. Stir in until melted the peanut butter, add the vanilla, oats and nuts. With 2 tsp, drop on waxed paper. Let stand until set. Make about 36
