CHERRIES JUBLIEE CRISP

Category: Cobblers/Crumbles and Crisps

Filling
1 (1 lb) can pitted sweet dark cherries
2 tbsp orange flavored liqueur or orange juice
2 1/2 tsp cornstarch

Topping
6 tbsp flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup quick or old-fashioned rolled oats
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 cup cold butter, cut into small pieces
Whipped cream
Ground nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350. Filling: Combine first 3 ingredients into a saucepan until dissolved. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture has thickened, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Let cool for 10 minutes.

Topping: Combine first 3 ingredients in a small bowl. Add butter and mix with a fork until crumbly. Place filling in a 3-4 cup shallow baking dish or individual baking dishes. Sprinkle topping over fruit. Bake until topping is golden, about 20 minutes. Serve warm or room temperature with whipped cream and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serves 4
