HOLIDAY BERRY CHICKEN

1 (3 4 lbs) broiler fryer chicken, cut up
2 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup diced celery
1 (16 oz) can whole berry cranberry sauce
1 cup bottled barbecue sauce

In a skillet, brown chicken in butter; season with salt and pepper. Remove the chicken to a greased 13x9 inch baking pan. In the drippings, saute onion and celery until tender. Add cranberry sauce and barbecue sauce; mix well. Pour over chicken. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 1 1/2 hours, basting every 15 minutes. Serves 4-6
