1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup water
3 tbsp chili powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cumin
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 (16 oz) can refried beans
1 (16 oz) jar taco sauce, divided
1 (8 oz) container sour cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cook ground beef until browned, stirring until crumbled; drain well. Add next 6 ingredients to beef. Cook, uncovered, about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove skillet from heat; stir in refried beans, and set mixture aside.

Spread about 1/2 cup taco sauce into a 12x8 inch baking dish. Arrange 2 tortillas on top of sauce; cover with half of meat mixture, sour cream and additional 1/2 cup taco sauce. Arrange 2 additional tortillas on top of sauce; cover with additional 1/2 cup taco sauce, the remaining meat mixture, and half the cheese. Arrange remaining tortillas, sauce and cheese on top. Cover and bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serves 6
