GREEK STYLE PASTA WITH SHRIMP AND FETA

1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
3 clove garlic, minced
2 cups canned tomatoes, pureed
1 tbsp oregano
1 tsp basil
1/4 tsp pepper
3/4 lb fettuccine, cooked al dente
3/4 lb uncooked shrimp, shelled and deveined
1/2 cup kalamata olives
1/4 lb feta cheese
While pasta is cooking, cook onions and garlic in oil in a skillet until golden, about 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes and seasonings and bring to a boil, breaking up tomatoes with a spoon. Reduce heat, cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes
Uncover the sauce, bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 3 minutes. Add olives and half the cheese, stirring to combine.
Drain pasta, serve topped with shrimp and sauce. Crumble remaining feta on top. Serves 6
