CHOCOLATE RUM PECAN PIE

1 (9 inch) pie crust
1 1/2 oz unsweetened chocolate
3 tbsp butter
3 eggs, beaten
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp rum
1 1/4 cups chopped pecans
Melt chocolate and butter together in a saucepan; set aside and allow to cool. Combine eggs, corn syrup and sugar. Add remaining ingredients, mixing well and pour into pie shell. Bake at 350 for 1 hour, or until set. (The filling will rise and then fall.) Remove from over and cool on a rack. Serve slightly warm or at room temperature.
