CHERRY CREAM PIE II

1 cup sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1 (8 oz) pkg container whipped topping
1 can cherry pie filling
1 baked 9 inch pie shell

Beat first 3 ingredients until blended. Fold in sour cream and add whipped topping. Pour mixture over pie crust and top with cherry filling. Serve chilled. Top with whipped topping, if desired.
