CRAB AND ASPARAGUS CASSEROLE

1 (10 oz) pkg frozen asparagus, cooked according to pkg directions
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
Dash pepper
1 cup milk
8 oz crab meat, picked through
2 tbsp chopped toasted almonds
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
While asparagus is cooking, saute mushrooms and onion in butter until onions are tender. Stir in cornstarch and seasonings. Stir in milk all ad once and cook, stirring, until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 1 minute more. Stir in crab and asparagus. Spoon mixture into four individual casseroles.
In a small bowl, stir together almonds and parmesan cheese. Sprinkle on top of casseroles. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes or until mixture is heated through and cheese is browned. Serves 4.
