PASTA WITH ASPARAGUS AND HAM

12 oz fettuccini, al dente
6 oz diced ham
1 cup cream
3 clove garlic, minced
8 oz fresh asparagus, cut into segments
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Pepper, to taste

While pasta is cooking, place the next 5 ingredients in a large pot. Bring to a boil for 2 minutes. When pasta is cooked, drain and add to the cream mixture. Add cheese and toss until mixed. Place in warmed serving dish and add pepper. Serves 2
