TEXAS-STYLE BBQ BRISKET

Brisket
3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp chili powder
2 bay leaves
2 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp liquid smoke, celery salt and pepper
1 (6 lb) beef brisket
Sauce
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tbsp oil
2 clove garlic, minced
1 cu ketchup
1/2 cup molasses
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp ground mustard
In a large resealable bag, add brisket ingredients along with brisket. Seal bag and turn to coat. Refrigerate overnight.
Transfer to a slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or until tender.
Sauce: In a saucepan, saute onion and garlic until tender. Stir in remaining ingredients until heated through.
Remove brisket from cooker, discard bay leaves. Place 1 cup cooking juices in a measuring cup and skim off fat. Add to bbq sauce. Discard remaining juices.
Return brisket to cooker; top with sauce. Cover and cook on HIGH for 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend. Allow meat to rest about 10 minutes before slicing across the grain. Serve with sauce.
