PASTA FAZZOOL CASSEROLE

1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 lb mushrooms, chopped
4 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp dried oregano, crumbled
1/2 tsp dried thyme and basil, crumbled
1 (28 oz) can Italian plum tomatoes, rinsed, drained
2 tbsp tomato paste
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 lb mostaccioli pasta, cooked al dente
1/2 cup grated parmesan
1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley
12 oz Fontina and provolone cheese, grated

Preheat oven to 400. Saute first 9 ingredients in a saucepan until meat is brown, crumbling with a fork. Add next 3 ingredients; simmer for 5 minutes, breaking up tomatoes with back of a spoon. Add beans and heat through. Season with salt and pepper. Add pasta, cheese and parsley; toss to combine. Transfer to a 13x9 inch baking pan, sprayed with cooking spray. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake until cheese melts, about 30 minutes. Serves 8
