CREAMY SALMON AND FETTUCCINE

8 oz fettuccine, cooked al dente
2 tbsp butter
2 scallions, including tops, thinly sliced
1 (10 oz) pkg frozen cut asparagus, thawed and drained
1 (15 1/2 oz) can salmon drained and flaked
1 tbsp capers, finely chopped
1/8 tsp pepper
1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
While pasta is cooking, melt butter in skillet. Add scallions and asparagus; cover, and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients and cook, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain fettuccine, add to salmon mixture and toss to coat. Serves 4-6
