GEORGIA PEACH BREAD

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups pureed peaches
2 cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda and baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup finely chopped pecans
Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs and mix thoroughly. Add puree and dry ingredients; mix thoroughly. Add vanilla extract and nuts; stir until blended. Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 325 for 55 minutes to 1 hour. Let bread cool about 15 minutes before removing form pan.
