CINNAMON PECAN RING

Category: Quick Breads

2 (1 lb) loaves frozen bread dough, thawed
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup sugar and packed brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Pecan halves
Cinnamon sticks
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups sifted confectioners sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Grease a 12 inch pizza pan; set aside. On a lightly floured surface, flatten dough slightly. Cut each loaf into 4 pieces. Form each piece into a rope about 18 inches long. Bruch each rope on all sides with melted butter. Stir together the sugars and cinnamon. Place mixture in a shallow pan. Roll one rope in sugar mixture to coat evenly. Shape rope into a coil in center of pizza pan. Roll another rope in sugar mixture. Attach securely to end of second rope and coil around first coil. Continue coating remaining ropes with sugar mixture and attaching them to form a circle. Sprinkle any remaining sugar mixture over cake ring.

Sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped pecans on top. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30-40 minutes or until nearly doubled in size (or cover with plastic wrap and let rise overnight in refrigerate. Before baking, remove from refrigerator and let stand 15-20 minutes.) Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Cover with foil the last 10 minutes, if necessary to prevent over browning. Cool 15 minutes. Make a glaze by stirring together confectioners sugar, vanilla and enough milk to make a glaze. Spoon over cake ring. Sprinkle with additional pecans.
