THREE-LAYER BROWNIE BAR

1 box brownie mix
1/2 cup butter
3 3/4 cup confectioners sugar
2-3 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1/2 cup butter

Make brownies for a 13x9 inch baking pan for cake-like brownies. Cool in pan on wire rack. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter until fluffy. Add 2 cups confectioners sugar, beating well. Mix in 2 tbsp of milk and vanilla. Slowly beat in remaining confectioners sugar. Beat in additional milk, if needed, to make a spreadable mixture. Spread over cooled brownies.

In a small saucepan, combine chocolate pieces and remaining butter. Cook and stir over low heat until melted and combined. Slowly pour over frosting. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes or until chocolate is set. Store at room temperature.
