BLACKBERRY-PEACH CRISP

1 1/2 lbs peaches (about 3), peeled, pitted and cut into 1/2 inch wedges
2 cups blackberries
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp lemon juice
1/3 cup sugar
2/3 cup flour
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
1/2 tsp salt and nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
3/4 stick cold unsalted butter, cut into bits
3/4 cup coarsely chopped lightly toasted pecans

In a bowl toss fruit gently with cornstarch, juice and salt until combined well. In another bowl, stir together dry ingredients; add butter, blending mixture until it resembles coarse meal; stir in pecans. Spread peach mixture into a 13x9 inch baking pan, sprinkle with pecan mixture. Bake at 350 for 45-50 minutes or until golden.
