CREOLE CRAB CASSEROLE

2/3 cup uncooked rice
1 small onion, minced
1 small green bell pepper, chopped
2 tbsp butter
1 (16 oz) can tomatoes
1 tsp seasoned Cajun seasoning
1/4 tsp seasoned pepper
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf
6 whole black peppercorns
2 whole cloves
1 (6 1/2 oz) can crab meat
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Cook rice according to package directions. Cook onion and pepper in butter for 2-3 minutes. Add next 5 ingredients. Tie whole spices in a small piece of cheesecloth and add. Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes. Remove spice bag. Add crab meat, rice and salt and pepper, to taste. Pour into a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish and sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
