BEEF BRAISED IN BEER -- Crock pot

Category: Beef

3 lbs lean beef stew meat, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
1 tbsp salt
1/2 tbsp pepper
2 medium onions, thinly sliced
1 (8 oz) can sliced mushrooms, undrained
1 (12 oz) can beer, preferably Negro Modelo
1 tbsp vinegar
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 tsp sugar
2 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp thyme
2 bay leaves

Put beef in the crock pot. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over beef. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours. Before servings, thicken juices, if desired.
