CHOCOLATE LINZER TORTE

3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup sifted confectioners sugar
3 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup coarsely chopped almonds
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup raspberry preserves
Preheat oven to 300. In a large bowl, combine butter and sugar; beat until creamy. Blend in mayonnaise, cinnamon and cloves. Gradually add flour; mix well. Stir in almonds and chocolate chips. Divide dough into 2 balls. Cover and refrigerate 30 minutes.
Place 1 ball of dough into a 9 inch pie pan. Flatten dough to fit in bottom of pan. Spread preserves on top of dough. Roll out remaining dough between 2 sheets of waxed paper. Remove paper; place dough on top of pie. Crimp edges, if desired. With a sharp knife, score top crust into 16 wedges. Bake for 45 minutes. Remove from oven; cool completely.
