WINTER FRUIT CRISP

Category: Cobblers/Crumbles and Crisps

Topping
4 slices cinnamon-raisin bread, cubed
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp ground cloves
2 tbsp sliced almonds

Fruit
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp flour
2 large golden delicious apples, peeled, cored and sliced
2 large pears, peeled, cored and sliced
1 1/2 cups cranberries
2 tbsp lemon juice

Preheat oven to 375. Grease a jelly-roll pan. Topping: Combine ingredients in a bowl. Fruit: Toss together sugar and flour until combined. Add remaining ingredients and spoon into a baking dish. Sprinkle with topping, leaving a 1 inch border of fruit showing around rim of dish. Tent loosely with foil.

Place on a baking sheet. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until bubbly and fruit in center of dish is tender when pierced with a fork. Remove foil last 30 minutes of baking. Cool until warm. Serve with ice cream.
