LIVER BAKED WITH ONIONS AND HERBS

1 large onion, sliced
2 tbsp melted butter
1/4 cup hot water
6 slices liver, cut 1/2 inch thick
2 tbsp flour seasoned with salt and pepper
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tbsp chopped parsley
2 tsp thyme
2 tbsp thick chili sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp butter
Place onion in oven pan, pour over it the butter and water. Cover and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Dredge liver in seasoned flour and arrange over the onions. Sprinkle with the seasonings and dot with chili sauce, sugar, and butter. Bake, covered, for 30 minutes and uncovered until the liver is browned. Serves 6
