CUBED STEAKS WITH MUSHROOMS AND ONIONS

Olive oil
Slivered garlic clove garlic
1 1/2 cups thinly sliced onions
1 tbsp water
12 oz sliced assorted wild mushrooms or 2 (8 to 10 oz) pkg sliced white mushrooms
1 tsp salt and pepper
1/2 tsp dried thyme
2 tbsp chopped parsley
4 cubed or minute steaks
Saute garlic in olive oil until golden and remove from oil. Add onions and water, cover and cook about 7 minutes, stirring occasionally until onions are almost tender. Add mushrooms, 1/2 tsp salt and pepper, and the thyme. Saute 5 minutes or until mixture is lightly browned and tender. Stir in parsley, remove to a bowl and cover to keep warm. Sprinkle steak with 1/2 tsp salt and pepper. Add additional olive oil and saute steaks 2-3 minutes on each, turning once, until barely pink at center. Top with mushroom mixture.
