CHICKEN SAUTE WITH SPAGHETTI

2 1/4 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
5 tbsp butter; divided
2 onions, cut thick
4 oz can sliced mushrooms, drained
2 clove garlic, minced
3 tbsp dry sherry
3 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
12 oz spaghetti, cooked and drained
3 tbsp parmesan cheese

In a large skillet saute chicken in 2 tbsp butter for 10 minutes. Remove with slotted spoon; set aside. Saute onions, garlic and mushrooms until onions are tender-crisp. Add sherry; bring to a boil for 1 minute. Add chicken; mix together.

In a saucepan over medium heat, stir in remaining 3 tbsp butter, along with flour, salt and pepper until smooth. Stir in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Mix spaghetti, chicken mixture and half the sauce. Turn into a greased 3 quart baking dish. Pour in remaining sauce, sprinkle with cheese. Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes or until heated through.
