SPICY CHILI GARLIC BREAD

4 tbsp butter
2 large clove garlic, minced
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 (12-14 oz) loaf crusty Italian or French bread, split lengthwise

Melt butter and stir in the next 3 ingredients. Cook until the garlic is softened, about 4 minutes. Remove the skillet from the heat.

Preheat the oven to 375. Brush or drizzle the cut sides of the bread with the chili butter. Place on a baking sheet and bake until crisp and golden, about 15 minutes. Cut break halves into pieces and serve.

NOTE: This is also good grilled on the cut sides down, on an oiled grill rack set 4-5 inches from the heat source. Grill until golden, about 2 minutes.
