CARAMEL APPLE TART

1 1/2 cups cake flour
1/2 cup butter, softened
5 tbsp sugar
1 egg
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
1 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp flour
4 cups peeled and sliced apples

Mix first four ingredients together. Add a little water if necessary to form a dough. Chill for 2 hours before use. After chilling, roll out to 1/16 inch and press into well greased 10 inch tart pan. Set aside any extra pastry for later use. Mix the remaining dry ingredients well.

Add apples, mix well, and spoon into pastry lined tart pans. With any remaining pastry, cut out shapes and layer over tarts. Sprinkle with a little more cinnamon and brown sugar if desired. Bake at 350 until light brown, about 40 to 45 minutes.
