Prep Time:       Cook Time:       Total Time:

2 1/2 cups flour
1 tbsp sugar
3 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 to 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
1/3 cup butter, melted

Toppings:
Sesame seeds, garlic, onion or celery salt

In large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cheese; add milk. Stir slowly with fork. When dough clings together, turn onto well-floured surface. On a floured surface, knead gently 10 times. Roll dough into 12x8 inch rectangle.

Cut dough in half with sharp knife, then into 16 strips. See diagram. Place butter in a 13x9 inch baking pan. Dip both sides of strips in melted butter. Place two rows in pan. Sprinkle with topping of your choice. Bake at 450 for 12-15 minutes. Serve immediately.
