BAKED SCALLOPS II

1 quart scallops
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 tbsp grated cheese
1 cup cream sauce add mushrooms if desired
Salt and pepper

Wash the scallops, cover them with cold water and heat slowly to the boiling point. Line a buttered baking dish with alternate layers of crumbs and scallops; sprinkle each with salt and pepper. Add the sauce, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and cheese, and bake for 30 minutes at 375. Serves 4
