EGGNOG ALMOND TEA LOAF

2-1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
3-1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp grated lemon zest
1 cup finely chopped toasted almonds
1 egg, beaten
3 tbsp vegetable oil
1 1/4 cups commercial or homemade eggnog
Preheat the oven to 350. Grease and flour a loaf pan.
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Add the lemon zest and almonds and stir to combine.
In another bowl, combine the egg, oil, and eggnog. Stir this mixture into the dry ingredients just until well blended. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for about 1 hour or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then turn out onto a rack to cool completely.
