HEATH BAR DESSERT

1 pkg Lorna Doone Cookies (Shortbread Cookies) or 2 cups crushed Ritz crackers
1/2 cup butter
2 (3 oz)pkg instant vanilla pudding
2 cups cold milk
1 quart vanilla ice cream
1 pkg Cool Whip (the larger tub gives a sweeter taste)
6-8 oz Heath Bar Chocolate baking bits (1/2 to 3/4 of the bag)
Melt butter in 13x9 inch baking pan. Crush cookies in a bowl then add to melted butter and mix pressing down to make a crust. Prepare pudding using only the amount of milk for 1 box (2 cups). Add softened ice cream, and mix well. Pour over crust. Refrigerate for awhile to allow to set, the longer the better if not even overnight.Right before serving spread on the Cool Whip then top with the Heath Bar Chocolate bits to taste (more or less).
