ITALIAN STYLE SALISBURY STEAKS

1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs and water
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 cup Italian dressing
2 cups thinly sliced onions and mushrooms
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1/2 tsp basil

Preheat oven to 350. In a medium bowl, combine first 6 ingredients and shape into 4-6 patties. Place in a baking dish; set aside. In a skillet, heat dressing and cook onions and mushrooms, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in sauce and basil. Spoon mixture over patties and bake 30 minutes or until done.
