3/4 cup apricot preserves
2 tbsp brandy, optional
1 cup cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp almond extract
1/4 cup slivered almonds
In a small bowl, mix preserves and brandy; set aside. Beat creamy cheese until smooth then blend in sour cream and almond extract, blending until very smooth. Add apricot mixture and blend well. Fold in almonds. Cover and chill. Serve with pound cake, muenster or Monterey jack cheese cubes, vanilla wafers or chunks of chocolate or fruit. Makes about 3 cups
