BUTTERY SWISS CHEESE CANAPES

Category: Bruschetta, Crostini and Canapes

16 oz Swiss or gruyere cheese, shredded
1 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup chopped green onions
2 tbsp prepared mustard
2 tbsp poppy seeds
1 (16-oz) loaf French or Italian bread, cut into 32 slices

Preheat the oven to 350. Combine the cheese, butter, green onions, mustard and poppy seeds in a medium mixing bowl and mix well. Spread some of the cheese mixture on each of the bread slices. Arrange the slices in a single layer on an 11xl7 inch baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or until bubbly. NOTE: May chill the cheese mixture and serve with assorted party crackers.
