BRIE IN PUFF PASTRY

1 egg, lightly beaten
1 tbsp water
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
1/4 cup apricot jam
1 (13.2-oz.) round Brie or Camembert cheese
Whisk egg and water together in a small bowl until well blended; set aside. Roll thawed pastry sheet into a 14 inch square. Spread jam into a 41/2 inch circle in center of pastry. Place cheese over jam, fold pastry around cheese and trim excess dough; pinch edges to seal. Place seam side down on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush top of pastry with egg mixture. Bake at 400oF until pastry is puffed and golden brown (20 to 25 minutes).
