2 cups uncooked egg noodles or penne pasta
1/2 pound lean ground beef and Italian sausage
1 tsp dried oregano
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 cup sliced pepperoni sausage (used turkey pepperoni)
1/2 lb cubed cooked ham
16 oz pizza sauce
3 (8 oz) bags shredded mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 350. Cook noodles according to package directions.
In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, brown the meats with the onion, oregano, garlic and green bell pepper. Drain excess fat.
Layer ingredients in the order listed below in a 13x9 inch baking pan:
1st layer-1/3 of the pasta, 1/3 remaining sauce, 1 bag of mozzarella cheese, 2 Tablespoons parmesan cheese, sausage and onions.
2nd layer-1/2 of the remaining pasta, 1/2 remaining sauce, 1 bag of mozzarella cheese, 2 Tablespoons parmesan cheese, ham.
3rd layer-all remaining pasta, all remaining sauce, 1 bag of mozzarella cheese, 2 Tablespoons parmesan cheese, all the pepperoni (completely covering the entire top with pepperoni). Bake at 375 for 40 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving. Serves 8-10
NOTES: Prepared it early in the day and refrigerated, then baked covered for about 45 minutes, then uncovered for 20.
Made in 2 (8 inch) aluminum pans and froze one (unbaked) for later.
Additional ingredients to add: mushrooms, olives or other favorite pizza toppings
