SWEET ONION CHEESE DIP

3 large sweet onions coarsely chopped
1 garlic clove minced
2 tbsp butter
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 tsp hot sauce
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Sauté onions and garlic until tender. Remove from heat. Add cheese, mayonnaise and hot sauce. Transfer to baking dish. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes until lightly browned. Serve with crackers. Makes 5 cups.
