RED VELVET POUND CAKE

1 cup butter
3 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1 oz red food coloring
1 tsp sea salt and almond extract
1/2 cup shortening
7 medium eggs
1 cup whole milk
3 cups flour
4 tbsp cocoa

Preheat oven to 325. Sift dry ingredients. Cream the butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Add food coloring and vanilla. Gradually add flour mixture alternating with milk. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10 inch tub pan. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until done. Frost with cream cheese frosting or sprinkle with confectioners sugar. Freezes well.
