CRISP CHOCOLATE SNAPS

2 cups sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
6 (6 oz) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
1/2 tsp red food coloring
4 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
Sugar

Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease a cookies sheets. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugars until thoroughly blended. Add next 4 ingredients; blend well. Combine dry ingredients and to creamed mixture; mix well.

Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls; roll in sugar. Place 3 inch apart on prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 8-12 minutes. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets onto wire racks to cool.
