BARBECUED INDONESIAN-STYLE SPARERIBS

4 lbs pork loin back ribs, excess fat trimmed off
1/4 cup soy sauce, oil and lemon juice
1 medium-sized onion, sliced
2 clove garlic, crushed
1 tbsp sugar and Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp hot pepper sauce

Leave racks whole or cut in half. Cut a 1 1/2 inch deep slit on meat side between each rib so marinade can penetrate.

In a shallow pan, mix remaining ingredients. Cover; refrigerate 2-4 hours, basting and turning occasionally.

Drain ribs; reserve marinade, discard onion. Place ribs on grill or rack in broiler pan. Grill or broil about 7 inch from medium heat source for 45 minutes. Baste with marinade and grill or broil until tender, about 30 minutes longer, turning and basting often. Serves 4
