RASPBERRY BARS

3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 & 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
10 oz raspberry preserves

Preheat oven to 400. Beat butter with a mixer until smooth and creamy. Add brown sugar and mix well.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, and oats. Add this to the butter mixture, and mix well. Press half to the mixture into the bottom of a greased 13x9 inch pan. Spread raspberry preserves on top of crust. Sprinkle the rest of the crust mixture on top of the preserves. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes. Cool on a rack; then cut into bars.
