DENVER STYLE BAKED STUFFED PORK CHOPS

2 3/4 inch thick chops per person
Stuffing for 4 chops
1 medium onion, chopped
8 chopped mushrooms
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp butter
Nutmeg, salt, pepper and allspice, to taste
1 cup heavy cream
Saute onions, mushrooms and garlic in butter. Season to taste. Set aside. Slit pockets in chops for stuffing. Stuff chops as full as possible. Brown in a little oil, stuffed side down first. Use spatula to turn. Place in covered baking dish and pour cream around chops. Bake for 20 minutes. Uncover and dot with butter. Baker for an additional 15 minutes or until done. Serve with seasoned rice.
