1 chicken, cooked and cubed
1/4 cup butter, chopped onion and flour
1 pkg broccoli spears, steamed crisp tender
1 cup shredded cheese
1 can mushrooms, liquid reserved
1 tsp salt and pepper
1 large can evaporated milk

Preheat oven to 375. Saute onion in butter; stir in flour, salt and pepper. To reserved mushroom liquid, add enough water to make 1/2 cup liquid. Gradually stir into flour mixture in skillet. Blend in milk until smooth. Add mushrooms. Cook and stir over medium heat until sauce begins to thicken.

Arrange a layer of chicken over broccoli spears on top a 13x9 inch baking dish. Pour sauce over all. Top with shredded cheese. Bake for 20 minutes and let stand 15 minutes before serving.
