COOL WHIPPED FROSTING

1 (3.4 oz) pkg instant vanilla pudding mix
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 (8 oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

In a bowl, combine the pudding with the milk and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Gently fold in whipped topping until no streaks remain. Spread evenly over cake. Note: Use different flavored pudding for different flavors – chocolate, butterscotch, coconut – add toasted coconut, etc.
