HEAVENLY CORN PUDDING

3 egg whites
2 cups fresh corn
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup (2 oz ) grated Swiss cheese
Heat oven to 300. Grease 8 inch (2-quart) round baking dish with butter. In small bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
In medium bowl, combine corn, cream, salt, pepper, nutmeg and 3 eggs. Gradually fold in egg whites. Place in baking dish. Top with cheese.
Bake, uncovered, at 300 for 30 minutes. Increase oven temperature to 375°F; bake an additional 10 minutes or until top is golden brown. If desired, top with crumbled bacon and finely chopped chives. Serves 4-6
