SAUTEED BRUSSEL SPROUTS

Category: Brussel Sprouts

3 (10 oz) containers Brussel spouts
1 small onion, sliced
1 bay leaf
2 whole cloves
1/2 tsp salt
Dash pepper
4 tbsp butter

Trim off any yellow leaves and stem from sprouts. Slice vertically very thickly. In a skillet, place first 6 ingredients in 1 cup boiling water. When water boils again, turn heat low and simmer about 5 minutes or until sprouts are tender. Drain, remove bay leaf and cloves; add butter to skillet over high heat and cook, stirring, until sprouts are tender-crisp and begin to brown. Serves 8-10
