CHOCOLATEY CARAMEL LAYER BARS

1 roll refrigerated chocolate chip cookies
1 (11.5 oz) pkg milk chocolate chips
1 (18 oz) container caramel apple dip
3 cups rice chex cereal
1 cup chopped peanuts
Preheat oven to 350. In an ungreased 13x9 inch baking pan, break up cookie dough and with floured fingers, press evenly in bottom of pan to form a crust. Bake 15-18 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a saucepan, place 1 cup chips and 1 cup dip. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in cereal and peanuts. Spread mixture over cooled crust.
In a saucepan, place remaining chips and dip and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and spread over cereal mixture. Refrigerate until chocolate is set, about 20 minutes. Cut into bars.
