MUSHROOM DIP

Category: Dips - Hot

1/2 lb (about 8 slices) bacon
1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp flour
1/8 tsp pepper
4 oz cream cheese, cut into small pieces
1/2 cup cottage cheese
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp soy sauce
1/2 cup sour cream

Cook bacon until crisp. Drain, reserving 2 tbsp of drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon and set aside. Add mushrooms, onion and garlic to reserved drippings. Cook over medium heat until tender and most of the mushroom liquid has evaporated, about 6 to 8 minutes. Mix in flour and pepper. Reduce heat and add cheeses, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Stir in sour cream and bacon. Serve warm with crackers and breadsticks.
