Grilled - PURPLE ONIONS

3 medium purple onions
1 1/2 cups dry white wine
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tsp dried thyme
1/8 tsp pepper

Cut onion in 1/2 inch slices. Place in a shallow container; add wine. Cover and chill 8 hours, turning occasionally. Drain and set aside. Combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan. Grill onions, uncovered, 10 minutes, turning and basting often with butter mixture.
