PEACH GRUNT
Category: Cobblers/Crumbles and Crisps
5 cups sliced peaches
3/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 cup flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp butter, softened
1/2 cup milk
Combine first 3 ingredients in a saucepan. Cover and cook over low heat until mixture comes to a boil. In a mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients and cut in butter with a pastry blended. When crumbly, add milk, making a dough that is soft but not stick (you may not need all the milk). Uncover pot and drop spoonfuls of dough onto bubbling fruit, spacing evenly. Simmer, uncovered for 10 minutes, cover and cook an additional 10 minutes without lifting the lid. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
